Dunstan dislocated his left shoulder while tackling Ed Curnow in the Saints’ 71-point annihilation of Carlton on Sunday.

The 20-year-old underwent scans on Monday with season-ending surgery imminent in the coming days.

“It’s probably season over for me which is disappointing, the way the boys have been playing and improving each week,” Dunstan told Fox Sports

“It probably felt a bit better than it looked to be honest.

“The photos weren’t too flash, were they?”

The injury is a big blow for the Saints which are still a chance to make the finals.

Dunstan had surgery on his right shoulder in August 2014.

He has played 18 games this season only missing a Round 4 loss to Hawthorn.
