The documentary, Born Racer, was shown for the first time at the Indiana State Museum. The film is a behind-the-scenes look at Dixon's 2017 season and his career.

Dixon clinched his fifth Indycar series win two weeks ago, a feat which has elevated him above Mario Andretti, Sebastien Bourdais and Dario Franchitti on the all-time winner’s list. Only the legendary AJ Foyt has won more Indycar championships.

Dixon’s career took him from New Zealand to the USA and Indycar racing some 20 years ago. Today he is a permanent resident of Indianapolis, where he lives with his wife, Emma (pictured above with Dixon at the film’s premiere), and their daughters, Poppy and Tilly.

Some of the crucial formative years of Dixon’s career was spent in Australia in Formula Holden openwheelers. In this category Dixon was Australian Drivers’ Champion in 1998 shortly before he commenced his rise to stardom in US openwheeler racing.
