Billy Slater retired from State of Origin on the winning side but says NSW deserved their 2018 Origin series victory.
Queensland finished 18-12 victors on Wednesday, finishing the series 2-1.
The Blues have won claimed their first series since 2014.
Slater captained the Maroons for the first time in his final representative game.
"It was a great Origin," the fullback told Channel 9 after the match.
"They're a tough side. I'm just really happy we won. It was certainly one of the hardest Origins I've played. We just had to hang in there. We played really good patient football.
"But they're a good side. They took an intercept and then they scored a try with 12 men - they're a good side.
"They deserved the series but I'm just really happy for us to pick something up this year. It was a special moment to lead Queensland out tonight."
