The Dragons fought back to win a grinding affair 20-16, notching their second straight victory of the 2018 season.

"You don’t come here to win pretty, you come here to scrap well to win," McGregor told reporters after the game.

"We scrapped well tonight. It wasn’t a great game to watch, with the footy in hand. I was very happy with the first half. We had no field position. The Sharks were 21 from 22, so they were playing some good footy.

"There was a fair breeze so we just needed to swing that possession around, get a bit of field position and keep the Sharks under 16 points which we managed to do tonight. It's great going forward.

"For us it’s maintaining an 80-minute game. The boys have got the right attitude, which is around belief."

The Dragons have knocked off the Broncos and Sharks in the first two rounds to remain undefeated.

McGregor is pleased with his team's start but is not getting carried away.

"Our draw was tough for the first two weeks, playing against sides that have been predominantly top four in the past three years in Brisbane and Cronulla," he said.

"So two come away with two from two, one at home and one away, is pleasing but it’s only two weeks into the competition as well."
