Coach John Longmire had little choice but to recall the 30-year-old for the top-of-the-table clash at the SCG after starring for the Swans on Saturday against Canberra in the NEAFL with 25 disposals and two goals.

Longmire said the former Hawk’s experience would serve as a welcomed addition as his side attempts to down the reigning premier.

"He went back with a really strong attitude," he said.

"Benny didn't play a full game, obviously with the shorter break going into a Thursday night game. He played limited game time but the game time that he did play we were really happy with what he did.

"He's an experienced player, he's quick, he's hard and we'll need plenty of that on Thursday."

Sydney has won just three of its past nine matches against the Hawks with the Victorian club claiming the past six encounters.

McGlynn replaces James Rose as the only change.
