Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft appear unlikely to accept their respective punishments from Cricket Australia.
Smith and Bancroft are understood to be seeking legal counsel to challenge the punishments, which could see them miss out on national contracts for two years.
Cricket Australia banned Smith and Warner for 12 months - excluding club cricket - and Bancroft for nine. Warner may push his case to an independent code-of-conduct commissioner.
The trio all received bans far exceeding the ICC's one-test ban for ball tampering, under the guise of 'bringing the game into disrepute'.
While the saga is set to cost Cricket Australia "hundreds of millions" according to some pundits, there are still claims the bans were too severe.
Should the trio choose not to accept the punishments, a hearing will be held on April 11.
