Starting at The G on Friday night, Richmond proved they are premiership contenders with a stunning 18-point win over reigning premiers Hawthorn.

On Saturday, Geelong smashed the Lions 113-57, moving into eight in the process.

Three games on Sunday concluded round 18, with Port Adelaide beating St. Kilda 112-49.

The Bulldogs pressed their claims for a top-four spot, smashing a hapless Essendon side by 87 points.

Finally, Fremantle moved six points clear at the top of the competition ladder after beating GWS 84-63 in Perth.
