Michael Klinger will make his international debut aged 36 after being named in Australia’s T20 squad to play Sri Lanka this month.
Wicketkeeper Tim Paine has been also named after a six-year sabbatical from international cricket.
Interim national selector Trevor Hohns said Klingler’s selection was reward for the consistency he has showed for several years.
“(Klinger) has been a very good player in this form of the game for some time now,” he said.
“He has a history of strong performances in T20 competitions in the UK and in the BBL, including the match-winning innings for the Perth Scorchers to secure this year’s BBL title.”
Other uncapped players named include Jhye Richardson, Ashton Turner, Billy Stanlake.
Squad: Aaron Finch (c), Pat Cummins, James Faulkner, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Michael Klinger, Chris Lynn, Tim Paine, Jhye Richardson, Billy Stanlake, Ashton Turner, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa
