Wallabies coach Michael Cheika has named his 33-man Rugby Championship squad after culling three players from his initial contingent.
Those axed include Reds scrum-half Nick Frisby, Force winger Luke Morahan and Rebels prop Toby Smith.
French-based players Matt Giteau, Drew Mitchell, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Will Genia and Quade Cooper have all been named in the squad.
The Rugby Championship will be Cooper’s first outing in the green and gold following a stint with Toulon in the 2015/16 Top 14 season.
Stade Français’ Genia, who has not played since January due to injury, is one of two scrum-halves in the squad along with Waratahs No.9 Nick Phipps.
The Wallabies trained in Sydney this week and now head to Terrigal on New South Wales’ Central Coast to continue preparations for their opening match against the All Blacks on August 20.
The Wallabies are the The Rugby Championship holders.
They are attempting to win their first Bledisloe Cup since 2002.
