The 1989 New South Wales Rugby League grand final, played between the Canberra Raiders and Balmain Tigers, is considered one of the all-time great title-deciders in Australian rugby league history. It had everything, from a Balmain field goal attempt which hit the crossbar, to a miraculous recovery from eventual winners Canberra, which sent the game into extra-time.
