What a year for our national netball team. Here they are one by one.
In 2014, Australia’s national netball side went undefeated. That’s right: a big ZERO in the losses column, even after so many hard-fought internationals against the likes of England and the famous Silver Ferns from across the ditch, as well as many other challenges who are always taking their games to new levels, ever-encroaching on Australia and New Zealand’s dominance.
This year the Diamonds claimed 13 victories against seven countries, the most wins they’ve collected in a calendar year since their haul of 14 Tests back in 1999.
Their final victory of the year, against England in Canberra in October, came in the Diamonds’ 400th Test, putting even more icing on the cake of a magnificent 2014. The Diamonds’ current winning streak stands at 19, a run which began back in September 2013.
Inside Sport hopes you enjoy this special pictorial tribute to the players who helped return Australian netball to the top of the world.
