Benji Marshall has been dropped to reserve grade and will not play in tonight’s match against Canberra.
Coach Wayne Bennett scolded Marshall after it was alleged the former Dragon told journalist Paul Kent Anthony Milford was a lazy trainer.
The controversy has dominated headlines for the past 24 hours with Bennett stating Kent made the story up which Kent vehemently denies.
The mentor has since banned NewsCorp journalists from media access to him and his players.
NewsCorp owns the Courier Mail and Daily Telegraph as well as a 69% share of the Broncos.
And with no other major metropolitan newspaper in Brisbane, the ban is set to cripple rugby league coverage of the one-team town.
