New South Wales name same team for crucial third game against Queensland
Laurie Daley is sticking with the NSW team that threw away the chance to seal an historic Origin series victory.
The Blues coach has named an unchanged line-up for Game Three against Queensland in Brisbane on July 12.
That means he is trusting the same set of players who effectively choked at home in Game Two as they lost 18-16 after leading by 10 at half-time. Daley would no doubt argue it was also the same group that won Game One in stunning fashion at the end of May.
Jarryd Hayne retains his place for the decider, despite an error-strewn performance last time, while Boyd Cordner has been named as captain following a calf problem which will still need to be monitored ahead of the match.
David Klemmer, Wade Graham, Jake Trbojevic and Jack Bird have all been provisionally named on the interchange bench, while Jack de Belin has been called up as 18th man and will join the Blues team in the training camp.
New South Wales need to win in Brisbane to record only their second series victory since 2005, with dominant Queensland having claimed ten of the last 11 titles.
Blues team: James Tedesco, Brett Morris, Josh Dugan, Jarryd Hayne, Blake Ferguson, James Maloney, Mitchell Pearce, Aaron Woods, Nathan Peats, Andrew Fifita, Boyd Cordner, Josh Jackson, Tyson Frizell. Interchange: David Klemmer, Wade Graham, Jake Trbojevic, Jack Bird.
