Brent Harvey’s manager says the champion AFL star has not yet decided on his future.
The 38-year-old’s North Melbourne contract was not renewed after a record 432-game career.
There were whispers Collingwood were interested in the midfielder, however, Magpies coach Nathan Buckley confirmed the club would not be pursuing Harvey.
Harvey’s long-time manager Shane Casley told AFL Trade Radio wearing another club’s colours would be difficult for the Kangaroos legend.
“I think it was always going to be a hard decision for him to pull another jumper on, that’s honestly what he battles with — can I see myself putting another club’s jumper on?,”.
“It was always going to be a long shot. There is no pressure on him, there’s no clubs beating down the door for a decision, he doesn’t need to make a decision.”
“We haven’t put ourselves out there, Boomer still hasn’t made up his mind what he wants to do.”
Harvey is expected to attend the club’s best and fairest awards this week.
“We spoke as late as Friday and one day he has a beer with his brother and thinks it’d be great playing footy with him and then the next day thinks ‘I know I can play AFL footy’ so that’s the decision that he’s still battling with,” Casley said.
“We haven’t said we’re going on so the clubs aren’t ringing me and I’m not ringing them.
“We’ve met with no club and we’ve had no offers from clubs, there’s been some dialogue but that’s about all there is.
“He hasn’t come out and said to the football world what he wants to do.”
