Ultimate Soccer has brought to Australia the ultimate five-a-side-soccer experience from the UK. Catering to the needs of time-poor Australians who are too busy to enjoy team sports, Ultimate Soccer is developing a network of purpose-built, state-of-the-art facilities that encourage players of all ages, genders and skill levels to participate.

The flagship facility in Fairfield, Western Sydney will today be open to the public and Australians will now be able to enjoy the convenience and fun of five-a-side soccer.

Ex-Socceroo and FFA Grassroots Ambassador Brett Emerton says: “The concept of five-a-side soccer in the UK is massive and I expect the same to happen here in Australia. The Western Sydney soccer community is very lucky to have Ultimate Soccer invest $4m in this state-of-the-art development. It will certainly make the world game more accessible to men, women and children of all ages. I expect it to be a great success and a real positive for Australian grassroots soccer.”

Ultimate Soccer’s eight five-a-side pitches feature the latest all-weather synthetic turf technology, which means they can be played on all year-round, rain or shine. The small, high-quality caged nature of the fencing system promotes more touches, dribbles and goals, making the game an easier and more enjoyable experience.

State Member for Fairfiled, Guy Zangari says: “As the nursery of football in the nation, Ultimate Soccer will give young boys and girls the opportunity to access first-class training facilities. Ultimate Soccer is an exceptional concept which fosters relationships between the public and private sector. This is an exciting time for the community. The success of our Socceroos at the recent Asian Cup and the outstanding performance of the Matildas at the Women’s World Cup will inspire our football community to achieve their dreams.”

Ultimate Soccer plans to launch ten further sites in Australia over the next decade; the first facility in Fairfield when fully developed will be home to the largest five-a-side soccer facilitiy in the Southern Hemisphere with 15 advanced pitches expected to be completed by the end of 2016.

Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres says quality grassroots facilities are crucial to increase regular and ongoing participation opportunities. “This facility is an excellent example of collaboration between sport and the NSW Government.”

Ultimate Soccer is open seven days a week from 9am to 10pm (Saturday 10pm and Sunday 9pm). Pitch bookings are available for league competitions, tournament competitions, casual pitch bookings, coaching courses, kids' parties and corporate Events.
