Brisbane Broncos fullback Corey Allan has made history by becoming the first player ever to play for the Prime Minister's XIII without previously making an NRL appearance.
A former Junior Kangaroos representative, Allan has starred for the Broncos Under-20s in the past two years.
In 2018 the 20-year-old scored nine tries in 17 matches for Souths Logan in the Queensland Cup.
Allan admits he thought he was being pranked when he received the call that he had made the Prime Ministers' XIII squad to face Papua New Guinea.
"At the time I was camping up north at [the town of] 1770 with a few of my mates and had no idea that I was going to get called up at all," he told NRL.com.
"I was minding my own business and had no reception but luckily enough my mate hot-spotted me at the right time when I got the call. I had to drive six hours to [Brisbane] to get the plane to fly to Sydney.
"I didn't think it was real at first. I thought they would just let me train with them and learn off the big boys, but when I found out I was actually playing I was over the moon and rang my dad straight away."
Allan is joining South Sydney in 2019 on a three-year deal.
