Winners of the 2018 Sportscover Clubbies awards have hit a PR bonanza with their achievement gaining plaudits beyond the awards themselves.
Coomera Cutters Junior Rugby League Club, won $5000 in Intersport vouchers for their Best Club gong.
The accomplishment didn't go unnoticed and the burgeoning outfit also received a glowing write up on the Queensland Rugby League site. The Cutters also found themselves making news in the Gold Coast Bulletin and Gold Coast Rugby League.
Winners were presented with their trophies during the Clubbies inaugural luncheon at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday, attended by the CEOs of peak sporting bodies as well as representatives from Sportscover, Intersport, Confederation of Australian Sport, Inside Sport and Next Media.
Best Stalwart and tireless volunteer, Jeffrey Waldron of Coleraine Football Netball Club, was chuffed when his story made the local newspaper, The Spectator - Hamilton.
Meanwhile, reps from Best Association winner, Upper Great Southern Hockey Association, took their opportunity in the spotlight to promote hockey and their home base in the Shire of Narrogin, WA.
