The festival has become a premier event on the Australian Beach Volleyball Calendar, morphing from a local competition to a major international event following its inclusion in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour.
For spectators it’s a chance to soak up the beach atmosphere while enjoying some world class sport and entertainment against a backdrop of local cafes and restaurants.
Volleyroos Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar were on hand to officially launch the festival after striking gold for a third straight tournament!
The Gold medal haul began in Japan with their first tournament together in five years. They took out the Osaka Open to kick off their Asian tour with ease before going on to China for a blistering win at the World Tour Qinzhou Open.
Their most recent Gold strike came in Indonesia where they took out the Sumatera Governors Cup by defeating Kazakhstan’s Mashkova/Samalikova in a devastating straight sets 21-14, 21-18.
It all adds up to three tournaments, three gold medals, 16 matches, 32 sets , zero losses!

VolleyFest runs from November 18-26 and includes the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour - NSW Open, NSW Beach Volleyball Schools Cup and FIVB World Tour 2 star event.
Expect to see plenty of elite action. With so much at stake, Australian international level athletes such as Chris McHugh, Damien Schumann, Louise Bawden and Clancy will be at peak performance.

Event manager Baz Weidemier said: “This year is going to be better than ever. We have re- structured the stadium for premium corporate boxes and the event is now in November. So we can expect the weather to be amazing with high numbers to be seen at the in the crowd and at Manly Beach. Get ready to experience close up the skill, speed and drama of a thrill-a-minute sport.”
