The entrant list for the latest version of America’s Dancing With The Stars has just been announced. Normally this wouldn’t concern an Australian sporting publication like ours, but a couple of contestants’ entries have us thinking. United States Olympic ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White will be giving it a crack in season 18 of the concept. Is this unfair to the other contestants, most of whom are actors, former actors and ice hockey players? Or will Davis and White be starting from 0 like the rest of the show’s participants? After all, a lot of the very best softballers have trouble hitting a baseball, and vise-versa. The best rugby league winger isn’t often the best rugby union winger and vise-versa … and so on and so on. You would expect Davis and White to do well, but how will they go competing against each other after teaming up at Sochi? End of weird Inside Sport rant …
