David Taylor has rejected an offer to remain at the Raiders next year and has told teammates he will be leaving the nation’s capital.
Taylor signed a training deal at the end of 2016 and subsidised his meagre income by working in a pub after a checkered past marred by off-field incidents throughout his career.
Raiders recruitment manager Peter Mullholland confirmed a deal had been tabled to Taylor, however, with the club under salary cap pressure, the offer is believed to be significantly less than what the former Australian and Queensland hardman could earn elsewhere.
Reports are circling Taylor has signed with the Toronto Wolfpack on a three-year $1 million deal as the club, the first outside of Europe, attempts to make a push for the Super League next year.
Taylor has formerly played for Brisbane, Souths and the Titans as well as a stint for Catalans in the English Super League.
