And this Saturday night it will write the last lines of its final chapter, with the bulldozers moving in soon to help make way for a revamped version.

Over the years, the SFS has hosted everything from music concerts, to rugby union internationals, to College football games to big-time soccer events.

However, to use the modern lingo, the biggest content provider over the years has certainly been the Greatest Game of All, with Eastern Suburbs’ Roosters (who used to share it with the South Sydney Rabbitohs) calling it home from its initial days back in 1988. It’s a neat ending then, that those two clubs will meet in the final sporting event to be held at the venue.
