It was a special day at the Australian Masters Games for Denise Geeves who notched a string of six consecutive strikes from her opening bowl.
Geeves, a member of the Moonah Tenpin Bowling Club, has been sending them down the alley for well over two decades but today's scorching form was a highlight.

“My league highest score is 228 and I probably did that about 13 years ago, it’s been a long time.
“I’ve actually been to quite a few Australian Masters Games, the one in Newcastle was fun, and I’ve won a medal of every colour over the years.”
At the time of finishing her game Geeves had the highest score rolled by a female at the 2017 Australian Masters Games, highlighting how impressive her performance.
“I think a few of the guys had scores a bit higher, but my league average is at 132,” she added.
“It’s been great fun and I’m happy to have done so well.”
