Vave has been arguably Manly’s best forward this season with his loss sure to hinder the Northern Beaches’ club’s 2017 aspirations.

The 27-year-old becomes the Eels’ fifth signing in a week as the club sorts through the remnants of the salary cap crisis.

Other Eels signings include star five-eighth Corey Norman, forwards Danny Wicks and Kenny Edwards and hooker Isaac De Gois.

But Parramatta will not be seeking the services of South Sydney’s Adam Reynolds, who is off contract with the Rabbitohs at the end of next season.

The Eels are reportedly happy to sit on a $1 million-plus war chest for the next 12 months in the hope of landing one of the NRL’s biggest stars.
