Brazilian Police have rescued the mother-in-law of Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone from two men in Sao Paulo.
67-year-old Aparecida Schunck had been held since Friday last week and was not harmed in the rescue conducted by the anti-kidnapping division.
Schunck is the mother of Fabiana Flosi, married to Ecclestone since 2012.
Her kidnappers had demanded a ransom of $AU48.75 million, reportedly the highest ransom demand in the country’s history.
In 2012, a dental technician threatened to kidnap his daughter Tamara in a $AU400,000 plot.
The man was jailed for five years
