He fell just three games short of playing 250 games for the Tigers after being dropped from the NRL and now Farah will not feature deep in the finals in reserve grade.
He will be eligible to play in the opening round of the finals next weekend, but will not be able to take part in weeks two and beyond.
Farah will bring up his fourth lower grade match this weekend against Newcastle but needs eight matches under his belt to play on after the opening week of the finals.
And with the NSW hooker unlikely to be recalled by coach Jason Taylor for the Tigers’ two remaining NRL matches, he may well call time on 2016 next weekend.
Farah, who is on about $900,000 a season, was banished from the NRL a month ago.
He has been linked to a possible move to South Sydney.
Taylor confirmed the club legend was not in his plans for 2017.
