Bulldogs captain James Graham says he may leave Canterbury due to salary cap pressure.
The Dragons are in the box seat to acquire his services as the 31-year-old’s services as Canterbury battle to get under the cap for next year.
Considered the heart and soul of Belmore, the prop said leaving his home of the last six years was on the cards.
“The current situation at Canterbury is quite delicate.,” Graham told NRL 360.
“It’s quite clear that some current contracted players are going to have to move on in order for us to fundamentally play for points next year.
“Potentially (I’m one of those players)”
Graham said his first task was to get his head around any potential move and what that meant going forward.
“Talk to other clubs at the minute is secondary,” he said.
“The major talks I’m having is with myself. I’m figuring a few things out. Negotiations going on are internal rather than external.
“I’ve got to get a few things right in my head and make a decision moving forward for my career.”
