Like most footballers, fitness doesn’t end on the training pitch for Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury.
However, unlike his colleagues, Pendlebury has unique access to his own set-up based in Cremorne.
“I actually own a fitness club in Melbourne,” Pendlebury said.
“So that keeps me busy on my days off, I go in there and I’m in there a couple of times a week.”
Perhaps the most surprising thing though is one of Pendlebury’s activities that falls outsides the realm of football.
“I do yoga outside the football club, so it’s pretty handy having a gym and being able to employ yoga instructors and do classes,” he said.
But why exactly does the Collingwood star do yoga, and how does it supplement his game?
“I do it because it helps my game, flexibility and recovery and those kind of things,” he said.
“It’s a different challenge and I’ve enjoyed it since we’ve started it.”
