Broncos halfback Ben Hunt concedes he may have to leave the club in order to secure his long-term future.
The 26-year-old is off contract at the end of 2017 and is free to negotiate with clubs now.
The Dragons and Parramatta have been linked to the playmaker with big-money offers expected.
It is understood Brisbane, who have a history of tabling small-money contracts, will not be in the same ball park as other NRL clubs looking to secure a marquee signing.
“I’m sort of getting to that age where I have to make the best decisions for myself and my family," Hunt told Channel Seven.
“I love the club and they have been very good to me.”
