Jockey Josh Cartwright has been suspended from riding for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to a reckless riding charge from a Morphettville race on January 13.
Cartwright rode his horse Senior Council into the path of runners Go The Journey and House Of Wax considerably inhibiting their runs.
The race was won by Cartwright’s girlfriend and Norwegian apprentice Anna Jordsjo who rode $4 favourite Murti to victory.
Cartwright had his trainer’s licence suspended for six months.
Cartwright’s lawyer Wayne Pasterfield said emotional stress and pressure from family led to the incident.
