WATCH: a classic five-goal haul of one of our “Capture The Flag” subjects in our current issue.
As we began compiling our list of AFL tough men who will well and truly leave their mark on this year’s semi-finals, we quickly realised there was one obvious starting point – Hawthorn hard man Jordan Lewis. He was a shoe-in for inclusion in our “Capture The Flag” feature story. Lewis certainly treads a fine line, but he’s learned to control the unfettered aggression of his early days, when he threatened to be a tribunal fixture. Lewis does whatever it takes, with that straightforward but cunning country boy’s approach to the game. As an attacking midfielder or a shutdown tagger, he doesn’t mind terrorising opponents. But he can certainly take as well as he gives. He also happens to be one of the better, and braver, in-and-under men in the league. The sight of him leaving the ground with claret streaming from his head and coming back on bandaged up is common. The bloke’s irrepressible. Watch the enforcer in action here …
