Simon Katich has backed Shane Watson’s response to Michael Clarke after he described the latter as a “tumour” in the team.
Watson came out last week in response to the accusations that have been detailed in Clarke’s autobiography My Story where Clarke said he was like a tumour in the team.
Katich and Clarke’s infamous dressing room dust-up of 2008 has also been detailed in the book.
Katich grabbed Clarke around the throat after Clarke called him a “weak c---.”
“I don’t want to be drawn into it too much because it’s old news,” Katich said on ABC Grandstand.
“But I saw Shane Watson’s comments during the week and I thought he hit the nail on the head with it. I thought it was rather ironic that he was called the tumour.”
Watson said Clarke referencing him as a tumour was “more of a reflection on himself”.
