INSIDE SPORT congratulates Australian star Katrina Gorry, who was crowned the Asian Football Confederation’s Women’s Player of the Year for 2014 at the Confed’s glitzy annual awards night in Manila. The W-League, Brisbane Roar and Australian midfielder enjoyed a fantastic ‘14, which saw her bag a string of vital goals for the Matildas in their charge towards the Women’s Asian Cup final.

The 22-year-old also stars for FC Kansas City in America's National Women's Soccer League, and was up against Japanese duo Aya Miyama and Nahomi Kawasumi for the coveted AFC Player of the Year prize.
