Manly have been linked with a move to bring the former Cronulla fullback back to the NRL.
Barba is currently playing in England with St Helens, after leaving the Sharks last year following a drugs ban.
The Australian has been in exceptional form in Super League, scoring four tries and setting up seven in just five games.
Cronulla are also reportedly keen to have Barba back in the NRL.

The 28-year-old is contracted to St Helens until the end of 2019.
Any NRL club would need to pay a heavy transfer free to sign Barba for next season.
Despite salary cap issues, the Sea Eagles are believed to have money to spend following the retirements of Nate Myles, Brett Stewart and Steve Matai.
