Manly’s season of woe just got worse with coach Trent Barrett confirming three of his stars are unlikely to return in 2016.
The Sea Eagles are no chance of making the finals following their 17-16 golden point loss to the Bulldogs on Thursday night.
Dylan Walker, Tom Trobjevic and Jorge Taufua are little chance of playing again this season.
Walker suffered a dislocated shoulder in the first half of the round 23 loss rounding out the 21-year-old’s poor debut season at Brookvale.
“That is probably it for him,” Barrett said of Walker.
“It has been tough for him, but it is all a learning curve and he will come back stronger from it.”
Trbojevic has been carrying an ankle injury that requires surgery, which he may undergo now that Manly’s season is over.
“We will assess that now we can’t make the finals,” Barrett said
“There is no point risking blokes now. But we won’t be throwing it away, we still have three games to go.”
Taufua is suffering an infection from shoulder surgery which will require him to go under the knife again.
