The Maroons and the Blues will train just 50km apart in preparation for this year’s State of Origin Series.
Queensland has opted to move its base after three years at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort on the Gold Coast due to the facility’s redevelopment.
They will now train and reside at the Gold Coast’s RACV Royal Pines Resort as they chase their 11th series win in the past 12 years.
The Blues' new base is at Kingscliff, just 50km south of their counterparts.
The Maroons were formerly based at the Palmer Coolum Resort for six years, winning every series during that period as part of their nine-year unbeaten run.
The Blues will be based just 10 kilometres south of the Queensland border after three years based at Coffs Harbour.
