UFC foghorn Conor McGregor says he stands to earn $40 million in 2016.
The obscene amount makes him the first UFC fighter to enter Forbes’ top 100 highest paid athletes list with the Irishman coming in at 85.
He’s earned $22 million from fights with the rest coming from various endorsements including Reebok.
McGregor will headline the upcoming UFC 205 against Eddie Alvaraz and the 28-year-old could not be happier.
“By the time 2016 closes out, I’ll be closing in on $40 million. This is a $40 million dollar year for me. It’s been a damn good year,” he said.
“$4.2 billion dollars. That’s why I’m worth to this company.”
McGregor is expected to make even more money in 2017.
