Oscar Piastri delivered the strongest campaign of his Formula 1 career in 2025, taking multiple victories and pushing the title fight to the final rounds before finishing third in the standings.
Oscar Piastri’s 2025 Formula 1 season confirmed his status as one of the sport’s top performers, with the McLaren driver producing a campaign marked by speed, consistency and composure under pressure. Across the year he claimed seven victories and remained in title contention until late in the season, ultimately finishing behind team-mate Lando Norris and Max Verstappen in the final championship order.
Piastri’s early-season form established him as a genuine contender, with a string of strong results placing him firmly inside the top three. He regularly matched Norris in qualifying and translated several front-row starts into commanding race wins, helping McLaren maintain pressure on Red Bull throughout the year.

The closing stages of the season proved more challenging as Verstappen staged a late resurgence, while Norris sustained his points-scoring consistency. Piastri continued to deliver podium-level pace, including a strong second-place finish at the Abu Dhabi finale, yet the final points margin left him 13 shy of Norris’s championship-winning total.
Reflecting on the season, Piastri praised McLaren’s progress and vowed to return even stronger in 2026. His performances throughout the campaign, highlighted by his calm execution in high-pressure scenarios, have cemented expectations that he will remain a central figure in future title battles.
