Queensland have named Greg Inglis as their new captain to lead the Maroons against NSW in State of Origin Game I.
Inglis takes the armband from the retired Cameron Smith.
Queensland have selected a young squad with Matt Scott omitted and the retirements of veteran Smith, Johnathan Thurston and Cooper Cronk.
Broncos hooker Andrew McCullough has won the race for the vacant No 9 jersey, with the Dalby junior one of three debutants in the Queensland line-up for the series opener at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Melbourne's Felise Kaufusi and Gold Coast's Jai Arrow are the other two rookies selected.
