Souths owner Russell Crowe has phoned Wests Tigers discard Robbie Farah to discuss the prospect of luring him to Redfern in 2017.
The 2014 premiers are set to offer the NSW hooker a two-year deal.
Souths boss Shane Richardson has discussed Farah’s move with Farah’s manager Sam Ayoub.
Farah was dropped by coach Jason Taylor to reserve grade last month, just one week after helping the Blues to their Game III triumph over Queensland.
And with the Tigers chasing a place in the eight following their 26-14 last round win over NRL Premiers the Cowboys without Farah’s help, it looks increasingly unlikely the rake will feature for Wests again in 2016.
