St Kilda have shed four players in a major post-season clean out with players Luke Delaney, Tom Curren, Josh Saunders and Brenton Payne all shown the door.
Arriving at the Saints from North Melbourne in 2013, Delaney played 37 senior games over three seasons and finished fifth in the 2014 Trevor Barker Award.
Midfielder Tom Curren was taken by St Kilda at pick No. 24 in the 2011 Rookie Draft, elevated to the senior list in 2013 and played 25 games with the Saints.
After being drafted to the Saints at pick No.43 in the 2012 National Draft, Saunders played 22 senior games before being delisted at the end of 2015 and reselected in the 2015 Rookie Draft.
Payne was selected with pick No. 37 in the 2015 Rookie Draft and played five games at reserve level and 11 in the development league in 2016.
Chief operating officer and Ameet Bains thanked the four players for their continued efforts and commitment to the club.
“Luke, Tom, Josh and Brenton have each had a positive impact in their own way and should be commended for their ongoing level of professionalism and commitment throughout their time with the club,” Bains said.
“We sincerely wish all the players the best with their future endeavours and thank them for their contribution to St Kilda Football Club.”
