Manly prop Brenton Lawrence says he does not want to leave Sydney’s Northern Beaches as whispers grow the Sea Eagles are trying to offload him to other clubs.
The 32-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent times but is feeling strong again after captaining Manly at the Auckland Nines.
The fact he is fit once again means Manly are now in a position to entice rival clubs with his services.
“It was an honour to captain the boys and I thought we did well with a young squad,” Lawrence told RLW.

“I’ve heard the rumours that I may be on the move and I accept it’s a business and I know I haven’t played much footy over the last few years due to injury.
“But my body feels great now and I was happy with the way I went at the Nines.
“I just want to stay at Manly and play good footy and hopefully that will happen.
“I don’t want to go but sometimes these things are out of your control.”
