Cronulla’s pursuit of a maiden NRL Premiership could be tainted by legal action taken by 10 former players regarding the club's controversial supplements program.
News Limited has reported Nathan Gardner, Stewart Mills and Stuart Flanagan have joined Ben Pomeroy, Albert Kelly, Dean Collis, Broderick Wright, Josh Cordoba, Isaac Gordon and Paul Aiton in suing for negligence, breach of contract and intentional tort.
The matter is listed for directions in the Sydney district court on August 22.
Ten players including Gardner and Kelly accepted an ASADA back-dated 12-month bans in 2014.
Cronulla skipper Paul Gallen and current Sharks player Wade Graham, as well as Luke Douglas, Kade Snowden, Jeremy Smith, Matt Wright, Anthony Tupou and John Morris accepted the same deal.
The players accepted that they were unknowingly and unwittingly injected with banned substances.
The controversy ripped the club apart with current coach Shane Flanagan stood down by the NRL for a full season in 2014.
