Some 5000 competitors are expected in north-west Tassie from October 21-28 for the Games, which encourages mature-aged athletes to continue pursuing their chosen sport. The event is open to anyone meeting the minimum age requirement, which is 30 years old in most sports.
Keeping in the spirit of the Games, the festival atmosphere will make the most of its location among the coastline, forests and trails of Tasmania’s Cradle Coast. Befitting the host venue, sports such as fly-fishing, mountain biking and trail running have been added to the program.
Registration for the Masters Games is open, with gold registration (which will include priority access to accreditation) closing on May 1. For more information, visit australianmastersgames.com.au
