Best Use of Media is a new category for the 2019 Sportscover Clubbies Awards – and the nominations are rolling in.
The category showcases the bloggers, photographers, suburban reporters, gameday tweeters and Facebook warriors who keep local sport front and centre.
We’ve picked three very different nominees to show what’s being done out in clubland to keep sport and community connected.
MICHAEL SMITH’s vids are a must watch for Newcastle Northstars fans and have raised the profile of ice hockey in Australia. From gritty rink action and pre and post-game interviews to the quirky side of ice sports, he provides the video nous and quality control for an enthusiastic production team.
LACHY HEEL has cornered a niche market with his College Matildas website, dedicated to following Aussie women footballers playing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association division (US and Canada). @lachyheel is a tireless warrior for women’s sport including basketball, where he reports on the Sydney Uni Flames.
