Six former NRL players will take the field on Sunday to try and secure Toronto Wolfpack's place in England's Super League next year.
The new Canadian club have enjoyed a quick rise up from the third division League 1 and into the Championship, the division below Super League, since joining England's tier of competitions in 2017.
Helping push them towards Super League has been a core of Australian players who learned their trade in the NRL.
The Wolfpack are captained by halfback Josh McCrone, the ex-Canberra and St George Illawarra playmaker, while their forward pack is filled with NRL experience.
Former Cowboy Ashton Sims, ex-Wests Tigers prop Jack Buchanan and former Sea Eagle Darcy Lussick make up the front-row and have more than 380 NRL matches combined under their belts.
Cory Paterson, once with Newcastle, North Queensland and Wests, is in the back-row.
The Antipodean contingent includes former Dragons, Storm and Bulldogs utility Chase Stanley.
One of the stars for Toronto this season has been five-eighth Blake Wallace.
Wollongong-born Wallace never cracked the NRL but learned his trade in Dapto, and had stints in the Queensland Cup with Central Queensland Capras, and in the NSW Cup with Illawarra Cutters.
On Sunday the Wolfpack take on the London Broncos in the Million Pound Game, with the winner promoted into Super League for 2019.
Paterson has played in both the NRL and Super League, but has impressed with how Toronto have been embraced on and off the field in Canada.
The Wolfpack regularly attract vocal crowds of around 8,000 at Lamport Stadium, their home ground, with a party-like atmosphere on game days.
The 31-year-old admits he hasn't seen anything like in rugby league before.
"Not in terms of positivity and all-round good times," he said.
London last played in Super League in 2014 and boast their own ex-NRL contigent of Jarrod Sammut, Mark Ioane, Daniel Harrison and Api Pewhairangi.
Paterson insists Toronto are ready for the clash.
"We're looking forward to the challenge," he said.
"There’s definitely a lot riding on it. This is the best a Championship team can do in a season, so realistically it’s our grand final."
