O’Neill, a premiership player with the club, was stood down earlier this month for alleged inappropriate behaviour involving him and a colleague.

He was subsequently asked to stay away from his workplace.

“The Board of Wests Tigers is fully committed to ensuring the Club is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and seeks to promote an environment that supports diversity, productivity and professionalism,” the club said in a statement.

“All employees have the right to be treated fairly and with respect. Discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated and the Board will not excuse misconduct in any circumstances.”

The 41-year-old debuted for Balmain in 1994 and played 102 games for the club before joining the Wests Tigers joint-venture for which he made 112 appearances between 2000 and 2005.

He finished up in the English Super League before joining the NRL match review committee.

O’Neill took up the role in March.
