Tim Sheens says he has no fears of any off-field bad behaviour after signing former NRL star Todd Carney to his club Hull KR.
Sheens' English Super League side has signed Carney for the rest of 2018.
The 32-year-old has been kicked out by three Australian clubs in the past and was de-registered by the NRL in 2014.
But Sheens, who gave the five-eighth his sole Test cap with the Kangaroos, is confident that poor behaviour is all beyond Carney now.
"Toddy really wanted another shot at the NRL and he thought through Northern Pride that would happen," he said.
"But it didn't happen and his mum got sick so he moved south again. However, his mum has gone through chemotherapy and was back home so he felt more comfortable. The deal suited both parties.
"I know Toddy reasonably well and we will keep him focused on the footy. The RFL has cleared him to play games gere so it's just a question of sorting out with Northern Pride and him getting his visa."
