Dellavedova and his manager have teamed up with Hollywood producers Zachary Green and Jason Shuman to produce a film based on the Australian’s life and career.

The film will detail Dellavedova’s early days in country Victoria and his rise to the top of the NBA where he won the 2015 NBA Championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“I am honoured that Zachary and Jason think enough about my journey to turn it into a feature film,” the 26-year-old said.

“I am thrilled to be working with this incredible group to tell my story to inspire kids around the world to dream big and that hard work and perseverance pays off.”

Filming is set to start in Australia next year with its genre compared to Rocky.

“Delly’s inspirational story about overcoming the odds is one everyone can relate to,” Dellavedova’s manager Bruce Kaider said.

“In real-life, it played out just like a movie.”
