Some of the biggest stars in world bull riding competed in the PBR Monster Energy Iron Cowboy on the weekend.
In front of a packed AELEC Arena at Tamworth, the event officially opened the 2020 Australian PBR National Champion title race.
US bull rider Brady Sims (pictured) took top spot on Saturday night, while the highest marked bull of the night was Boogers Beach (Dittmann Bucking Bulls) for 43.5 points, a strong contender for 2020 Rookie Bull honours.
“It was great,” Sims said during the presentation ceremony on RidePass.
“This crowd were on the edge of their seats the whole time, making us ride better, being so loud, and it makes a guy want to step up and ride.”
Sims beat out four fellow internationals and 17 of Australia's best riders to win the title.
Outside the international line-up, young gun Aaron Kleier (Clermont, Qld) - the newly crowned 2019 PBR National Champion - came in at 4th, with fellow Aussie’s Nathan Burtenshaw 5th, Will Purcell 6th, Cliff Richardson 7th, Lachlan Richardson 9th and Tamworth local Troy Wilkinson rounding out the top 10 spots.
