The Bulldogs discard was thrown an 11th hour offer from the Tigers but decided to sign with the Sharks.

Williams, known as T-Rex, was once considered one of the most damaging forwards in the game.

The 193cm/ 120kg wrecking ball won a premiership with Manly in 2011 and earned NSW and Australian honours.

But he did not recapture his early form during his four years with the Bulldogs and was dropped to reserve grade this year.

The 27-year-old’s one-year deal at the Sharks is tiny in comparison to his former contract of about $600,000 a season.

He has been told should he not perform, he will be playing reserve grade.
